One more trip and back we'll go,
Right back home to Buffalo.
The stanzas that follow were unearthed as a result of advertising in Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo.
May 23, 1933. From Mrs. G. W. Tillapough, Mexico, New York;
Sandy Dan he had red hair,
He looked six ways for Sunday.
He peddled clams the whole week through,
And every day was Sunday.
Sunday night he went
To see red-headed Sal, And took her to his clamboat Way down on the Erie Canal.
"The other six verses the same except 'Every day was Monday' in the second verse, 'Tuesday' in the third verse and so on." Sandy Dan, it would seem, had company every night.
